With the aim of providing information for studying, researching and respective funding opportunities in Germany, the DAAD Information Centre Istanbul was founded in 2000.
German universities, like most universities around the world, maintain a broad network of international partnerships. The DAAD supports such international partnerships through a number of schemes that aim to foster cooperation among higher education institutions.
In the eyes of the DAAD, the end of a funding period marks the beginning of a long-standing relationship with us. We aim to stay in touch with our alumni as well as help you get to know one another through a serious of programmes and activities. We also support you in setting up regional DAAD alumni clubs and other forms of networking opportunities.

Founded in 1607, Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) is a comprehensive university with a longstanding tradition which attracts around 26,000 students. JLU is offering the full range of traditional and modern subjects with top-level teaching and research ‒ extending from classical natural sciences, law and economics, social and educational sciences, linguistics and cultural studies to a unique selection of life science subjects such as human and veterinary medicine, agricultural, environmental and nutritional sciences and food chemistry. The leading personae who carried out research and taught at JLU include a number of Nobel Prize winners, such as Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen (Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901) and Wangari Maathai (Nobel Peace Prize in 2004). In this presentation, you will get to know JLU, the university town Giessen and English-taught master programmes.
