The Master of Arts programme “Religion and Global Futures” will equip you with knowledge and skills to understand how religion is influencing global issues and shaping our planetary futures. You will receive tailored support in cultivating critical academic skills and developing your individual research projects. These skills and knowledge are essential for confronting some of the most prominent global issues of our time and those of decades to come. The programme explores the pivotal role of religion in shaping issues of climate change, resource scarcity, pandemics, social discrimination and inequality, international conflict and terrorism, neo-imperialism, poverty, (ethno)nationalism, migration and social cohesion.

The English-taught programme starts every October.

What you need for a successful application:

• A bachelor’s degree programme in Study of Religion and/or other cultural and/or social sciences (a minimum of 2.5 on the German grading scale or the international equivalent)
• English B2
• Motivational letter

Application for EU citizens
1 March to mid-October (winter semester)

Application for non-EU citizens
1 March to 15 July (winter semester)

We highly recommend international applicants to apply as early as possible due to the lengthy visa procedures.
